Export your data QIF or CSV QIF or CSV QIF, one account per file

*SimpleFIN Bridge costs about $15 a year, paid to SimpleFIN, not us. OFX Direct Connect works where your bank supports it. Money details are from Microsoft's community answers, an archived copy of a Microsoft support article, and import guides from other finance apps, checked November 2026. Money's last edition, Money Plus Sunset, came out in spring 2010. TallyMint is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft.

Move your Money data in three steps

  1. Export each account from Money as QIF. In Money, choose File, then Export, and pick Loose QIF; Strict QIF is the other choice. Money exports one account per file, so repeat it for every account you want to keep. Menu wording can vary by version.
  2. Import the files into TallyMint. Go to Settings, then Import / Export, and choose a file; do the same for the next one. The steps are the same in the Windows app and TallyMint Web. TallyMint reads the file and shows an import plan, where you choose where each account lands. Details: how to import a QIF file.
  3. Check the preview, then compare balances. Look over the dates, amounts, and categories before you confirm. Afterward, compare each account's balance with Money's. Budgets and recurring bills are not part of a QIF import, so set up budgets and recurring bills fresh.

TallyMint cannot open a Money .mny file or a Money OFC file, in either version. Both need to become QIF first.

Bank sync is optional

Enter transactions by hand, import files, or connect your bank. On Windows, bank sync runs through SimpleFIN Bridge (about $15 a year, paid to SimpleFIN, not us) or OFX Direct Connect where your bank supports it, and you can import the OFX, QFX, or CSV downloads your bank offers. TallyMint Web includes bank connections. Setup: bank sync setup.
