What is TallyMint?
TallyMint (also written Tally Mint) is personal finance software in two forms. TallyMint for Windows is a desktop app you buy once for $59.99, with your data in an encrypted file on your own PC. TallyMint Web is the same app in any browser, with bank connections included, from $9.99 a month.
What TallyMint does
Both versions do the same things:
- Register with splits, transfers, check numbers, a running balance, and payee suggestions that fill in your usual category.
- Bank sync: SimpleFIN Bridge or OFX Direct Connect on Windows, Plaid on the web (included).
- Cash flow projections 30, 60, or 90 days ahead.
- Recurring bills and income, with auto-enter and a bills calendar.
- Budgets: monthly targets per category, actual versus budget.
- Goals, loans, and investments, with cost basis and capital gains per lot.
- Reports: spending, cash flow, month in review, net worth, and tax, all exportable to CSV.
- Import and export: QIF, OFX/QFX and CSV in; QIF, CSV and TXF out.
- Light and dark themes, and a phone layout on the web.
How TallyMint is different
You can still pay once. The Windows app is $59.99 once, with a 30-day free trial and no credit card. After the trial it goes read-only until you buy, and your data is never deleted.
Your data can stay on your computer. The desktop app keeps everything in an encrypted file on your PC, opened with your master password. No cloud account, and your financial data is never sent to us.
Or we run it for you. TallyMint Web works on a Mac, a Chromebook, or a phone, with bank connections included. Your ledger is encrypted and walled off per account, and bank access is read-only: TallyMint can never move your money.
Who TallyMint is for
Pick Windows for a one-time purchase and data that stays local. Pick Web if you are not on Windows, want your ledger on your phone too, or would rather not manage bank connections or backups.

Is TallyMint safe?

Is TallyMint a one-time purchase or a subscription?
Both are available, and that is deliberate. The Windows app is a one-time purchase of $59.99 with no recurring charge to keep using it. TallyMint Web is a subscription, because it is a hosted service: the bank connections, investment prices, hosting, and backups all come with it instead of being things you set up. Pick whichever arrangement suits you.
Does TallyMint run on Windows 11?
Yes. The desktop app runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. It is a native Windows app, not a browser tab, so it stays fast even with years of history. If you are on a Mac, Linux, or a phone, use TallyMint Web instead.
Can I import my data from Quicken?
Yes. Quicken can export your data to a QIF file, and TallyMint imports QIF, along with OFX/QFX and CSV. Your transactions come over in seconds, including splits, transfers, and even transfers inside split transactions, with categories matched to your TallyMint categories where the names line up.
