Move your data in three steps
- Export your data from YNAB. In YNAB on the web, export your plan data. You get two CSV files; the one to import is the register file, which holds your transactions.
- Import the register file into TallyMint. Go to Settings, then Import / Export, and choose the file. TallyMint reads the header row, including YNAB's separate Outflow and Inflow columns. Each CSV file imports into one account; if a file lists several accounts, TallyMint tells you and puts every row in the one you choose, so split it by account first.
- Check the preview, then compare balances. Look over the dates, amounts, and whether money in and money out landed the right way before you confirm. Afterward, compare each account's balance with YNAB's.
Budgets in TallyMint are monthly targets per category, with a register and cash flow projections. It is not an envelope system.
