Old Quicken won't install on your Windows 11 PC?
If you still have your old computer or your Quicken file, there are ways to get your history out. TallyMint for Windows runs on Windows 10 and 11, costs $59.99 once, and imports Quicken's QIF files.
What Quicken says
- Quicken's system requirements page lists only Windows 10 and 11 and does not mention Quicken 2013. We did not find a Quicken page that says whether 2013 runs on Windows 11 (checked November 2026).
- A Quicken moderator said in February 2026 that Quicken 2013 is discontinued and gets no support, updates, or compatibility fixes. Reports on Quicken's community forum differ: some people run 2013 on Windows 11, and others hit errors on a new PC.
Worth one try
Windows has a Program Compatibility Troubleshooter for older programs: Start, Settings, System, Troubleshoot, Other troubleshooters, Program Compatibility Troubleshooter, Run. We cannot promise it will help with Quicken.
Get your data out
TallyMint imports QIF. It cannot open a Quicken data file (QDF) and does not read QXF, so choose QIF when you export.
- Your old computer still runs Quicken. Choose File, File Export, QIF File (the wording can vary by version). If the account list offers All Accounts, choose it; otherwise export each account to its own file. Copy the files to your new PC.
- You only have your Quicken file or a backup. We did not find a tool that reads it without Quicken (checked November 2026), so the only route we know is a copy of Quicken that runs. Current Quicken converts files from Quicken for Windows 2010 or newer. It is a subscription with no trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. A converted file no longer opens in your old version, so convert a copy. For a 2004 to 2009 file, Quicken's conversion article says to download Quicken 2013 and convert with it (U.S. versions only). Quicken warns of possible data issues it will not help with. We have not tested it and cannot promise it will install or work.
- You have neither. Start fresh: import what your bank lets you download (OFX, QFX, or CSV), or set up bank sync.
Quicken says QIF does not carry budgets, saved reports, reminders, or paycheck setup, so plan to set those up again.

Every step is in the QIF import guide. TallyMint is not affiliated with Quicken Inc.
